"The Port Authority is a public corporation and government instrument of the Municipality of Nenana but having a legal existence independent of and separate from the Municipality." Since the beginning of Nenana, it has been known for its access to many transportation options that keep Interior Alaska thriving. Nenana boasts a Municiple run airport that include not only a paved runway but a float pond and ski strip. Nenana also has one of the most used boat launches in Interior Alaska located on 10th street. The Alaska Railroad meander through town and is a great option to tour Alaska or for commercial uses. The only Interior Barge Docks are also found in Nenana along the Tanana River.
